A year later

Wow, Miss Go Go turned one this week and not sure where the year went!

It’s been a funny and busy year for us and she’s been, mostly, happily along for the ride.

Last October we did our first big car trip to our best friends wedding. She did great on the way there and it was little rough on the way home, but doable. She even made it 90% of the way through the ceremony and I only missed the kiss and the walk back down the aisle.

Her love of boxes and packaging has not diminished since Christmas at all. Her favorite part is still the box and dropping things in it. I hope this means that teaching her to put her toys away will be easy…hahaha 🙂

We made it to about 7.5 months before we ended the breastfeeding. I wanted to go longer but she got lazy. Having a bottle for 50ish hours a week it’s hard to keep motivated to nurse properly 😦 Oh well, it hurt my feelings but formula isn’t all that bad and her needs were getting met which is the bigger thing to worry about.

She’s a great little eater! Once she graduated out of purees she started to refuse her dinner foods as it didn’t come off of our plates or look like our foods. So, we gave up dinner foods for her and started feeding her bites from our own plates. She loves Salmon and Steak and is really good with all the veggies! I just send left overs to daycare with her on the days where their lunches aren’t quiet on par with her level of eating.

March was a very rough month for everyone. She got her first ear infection. Turned out to be a double viral, I waited a couple days before taking her in, and she’s allergic to the cillin family of drugs 😦 Both her Daddy and I missed about one day a week of work to stay home with her because she was sick. Oh well though, so is parenting life.

Her first word was Dadda 🙂 She has perfected saying Hi and has the G sound down fairly well for Geordi. She looks at him and says her G sound and sometimes works on saying dog. Geordie has mostly warmed up to her. He figured out that if he allowed her to touch him she left him alone more often. They are still working on dog bed boundaries though. He gets to growl and she sometimes takes the hint and leaves him alone; if he shows teeth at her though, thats a different story all together. Shadow still hates her and doesn’t want to interact overly much with her. She does protect her though. If we get to the end of the 20 minute cry time Shadow will come sit and look at me to make sure I know that baby is not okay. They both have to check on her if they don’t get to see her before bedtime.

She is crawling and working on the walking and standing. She is everywhere and will go where she wants if you let her. If she wants to take the toy of the moment with her and it will fit in her mouth. She will put it in her mouth and crawl along like a dog with it. If it won’t fit in her mouth, she goes back to the army crawl.

Can’t wait to see what this next year holds!
