Pintrest Food Things, Part 1

I love Pinterest! I really love it for food things! Instead of having 60 cookbooks (my dream libabry!) you can have 4 boards and the world to pull from. Here are some of the Pintrest inspired food things that I have tried-

Ice Cream Cake
It was good but not great. Yes, very very easy dessert to make and a great use of plain vanilla ice cream left overs. It just didn’t hit us has an amazing do again dessert. It would be great with homemade berry sauce or as an alternative to shortcakes for Strawberry Shortcake!

Greek Caesar Dressing
I love this recipe but it needs some personal tweaking. But, its better than buying it cost wise and you can control ingredients and quantity made at any one time.

Roasted Brussels Sprouts with Garlic Aioli
My Hubby hates Brussels Sprouts but even he would eat these if slathered in the aioli sauce 🙂 I did sub greek yogurt for the mayo so it is a little tarter but also healthier!

Homemade Mozzarella
After two tries I gave up on this particular tutorial. Reading through the comments it likes like people have success with this process and I just didn’t. I have liquid rennet (5 drops per each quart) and lemon juice (1 teaspoon powdered Citric Acid is equivalent to ¼ cup lemon juice (4 Tablespoons). My substations may have been my down fall, but it shouldn’t have been.

Pumpkin Ravioli
I love this recipe! If you are like my house and don’t carve your pumpkins till the day before Halloween or they are at least mold free, it is a great use for home roasted pumpkin before you freeze it or can it.

Buffalo Chicken Fingers
We do this recipe at least once a month in my house. Though, we might also really love buffalo sauce in our house. I also add a little buffalo sauce to the egg mix that you dip the chicken strips in.

Enjoy!
