The Gender

Well readers, it has been agreed that we will wait till Baby is born to find out the gender 🙂

No, this was in no way suggested by me! Hubby pushed for this, and as it is 50% his, I agreed. Yes, at first I was a little miffed but after some thinking and head tilting (I learned it from the Beagle) I realized that there really is no good reason to know before hand. Here’s why from my view:

1) Decorating- Let’s face it women, we decorate the room(s) for ourselves. Baby doesn’t care if the walls are white, pink, blue, or black.

2) Clothing- Babies don’t care. Society cares what color you place baby in, but Baby does not care as long as it is warm, fed, and dry.

3) Surprise- How many times in life do you really get surprised by something? Christmas and birthdays we tell people what we want, or at least give hints. But to really be surprised by what happens, how many times does that happen?

4) Shopping- Sure, it’s a little harder to shop and pick out patterns but given who we are, Hubby and I, we knew we were already going gender neutral incase, and Hubby’s desire, we have a second baby we don’t have to spend the 1000’s of dollars on buying new gender things.

5) Bonding- Sure, I’ve read other females complain about how they didn’t feel attached to the Baby till they knew if it was a him or a her. I had my own issues attaching to Baby when I first found out but it had nothing to do with gender. Now, that I can feel Baby move, craziest feeling when it’s little and you are just feeling it, I have no issues feeling connected to Baby. It is, and always will be, a part of me no matter if it is a Boy or a Girl.

5) Names- I will be lucky to have names picked out before going into labor  It’s just a fact and wouldn’t help if it was a boy or girl.  We’ve been debating names since we got married and are both to opinionated to make it an easy choice and happy conversation.

6) No Say- Ultimately, what is the point of knowing? It’s not like you can return it for the other one. Also, would it really change the way you felt about it?

So no, we aren’t finding out and I am A Okay with it. My Mother-In-Law, not so much 🙂
