Detox water

I don’t know about you but drinking all 30+ ounces of water a day can get very boring. I personally don’t count coffee and soda, diet if I can get it; Dr. Pepper and Mexican Coca-cola- one with real sugar, is the only sodas that I will drink full calorie. So to flavor up my water I have been trying some of the “Detox Waters” that are going around pinterest. I have no idea if they actually detox your body because of the ingredients or if they detox due to the amount of water you are drinking. It could also be a combination of both. I have also found that my fridge is a little to small to hold a giant pitcher of water. So instead of making it in a pitcher I discovered, quite by accident this amazing tumbler! Not only does it flavored water well but it also does bulk tea and cold brew coffee! Flavoring water does make drinking the water way more fun! Here is a list of the ones I have tried and liked.

Strawberry-Rosemary:
The two flavors mix well together. I wouldn’t add to much rosemary if you aren’t a huge fan of it. I would not recommend keeping and just adding water to this one multiple times.

  • Handful or two of strawberries. Fresh is probable easier but frozen works too.
  • Couple sprigs of Rosemary.
  • Water and ice
  • Pitcher- dah!
  • Muddler or strong spoon
  1. Place strawberries and rosemary in pitcher.
  2. Muddle together
  3. Add ice and water, then enjoy!

Apple-Cinnamon:
My favorite combo! I love apples and cinnamon so it’s perfect for me. I also had great success with reusing this combo multiple times before I trashed it.

  • One large apple. I used granny-smith because I had one.
  • One stick of cinnamon. I wouldn’t use powdered.
  • Pitcher
  • Water and Ice
  1. Slice apple into smallish slices
  2. Place apple slices and cinnamon stick into pitcher
  3. Fill with ice and water, then enjoy!

Lemon-Cucumber Water.. AKA Spa Water:
My second favorite type of water. I have no idea why it is called spa water having never been to a spa. This is one that you can fill and reuse multiple times.

  • One Lemon
  • Half or more of a Cucumber
  • Ice and water
  • Pitcher
  1. Slice up cucumber and lemon
  2. Place in pitcher then add ice and water
  3. Enjoy!

What are you favorite combos to spice up plain old water??

Enjoy!!

P.S. Sorry there aren’t any photos. I was busy painting my bathroom and enjoying these water flavors and forgot to take any 😦

  1. Hmm, good ideas. I have a cucumber and lime right now in the house, might try that too!
