Surprising Prices

I price compare as I shop. It helps me save money and where to find the best deals on products that I buy regulary or splurg on.

Target (Prices have been rounded some):

  • Starbucks Coffee $9/12 oz
  • Dunkin Doughnuts Coffee $12/24 oz and $8/12
  • Tully’s Coffee $7/12 oz
  • Mini Wheats (value size) $3.60
  • Cheerrios $4/22 oz
  • Pop Tarts $3/12 and $2/8
  • Ghirardelli Brownie mix $2
  • Duncan Hines Brownie mix $2
  • Pillsubry Brownie mix $2
  • Gold medall all purpose flour $5/10 lbs
  • Jif peanut butter $7/40 oz and $4/28 oz
  • Pressed dog bones $10/8

Target also runs adds where if you buy X they will give you a $5 gift cards. If you need the X product(s) it’s a pretty good deal.

Costco (Prices have been rounded some):

  • Limes $6/5 lbs (~20, $1.16/lb)
  • Lemons $5.50/5 lbs ($1.10/lb)
  • Pinapple $3 ea
  • Coke $19+ dep. (This is the real coke in the glass bottles from Mexico, 24 bottles)
  • Brown Eggs $4/18
  • 97/3 Ground beef  $17/ 5 lbs ($3.38/lb, sometimes I can find this on sale at other places)
  • Alaskan wild caught Salmon $27/3 lbs ($9/lb, again something I can find on sale cheaper)
  • 31/40 Shrimp $12.50/lb ($6.25/lb, something else that I can find cheaper sometimes)

Bi-Mart: I can sometimes find dry and canned goods items here for cheaper then other places. I know for a fact that they carry Bob’s Red Mill whole wheat flour for about $3 a bag. I have also seen the soup bases and granola in there.

I know it takes a lot of work to make price comparision lists and to updated them. I find it totally worth the time and engery! I also write down all my prices as I shop and keep my recipets together so I can double check prices and check trends.

Enjoy!
